John "Larry" Wagner

John “Larry” Wagner, born on June 5, 1945, in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Raymond William Wagner and Frances Lucille Wood Wagner, peacefully passed away. He was a lifetime resident of Glen Burnie and a proud 1964 graduate of Glen Burnie High School. Immediately after graduation, Larry answered the call to serve his country, proudly serving in the United States Army from 1964 to 1970.

Larry dedicated his life to his craft, enjoying a remarkable 46-year career as a mechanic for Tate Dodge and Chrysler Plymouth. While he worked tirelessly on cars day and night to earn a living, his true passion lay in the classic automobiles he tinkered with in his spare time. When he finally had moments to himself, he found immense joy in bringing old cars back to life, showcasing them in car shows, and embarking on his annual pilgrimage to the Hershey Car Show & Swap Meet every October. His absolute pride and joy was his 1941 Buick Super Business Coupe, affectionately named "Wendell." Larry’s devotion to the automotive community was reflected in his long-time memberships with the Buick Club of America and the Buick Owners of Maryland. He was also a dedicated, long-time member of the Knights of Columbus.

In his earlier years, Larry loved camping. Camping trips were a cherished time spent alongside family and friends—filled with laughter and good food. Around the campfire, Larry truly shined, earning a reputation as an excellent cook and an unforgettable storyteller who could captivate the whole group.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his brothers, Michael and David Wagner.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Pamela Wagner of Lawrence, Kansas; and his beloved grandchildren, Morgan Ruckman (Carter), Bridget Mayhew, Gregory Mayhew, and Rodger Mayhew; and his faithful companion 21-year-old cat, Ralph.
