John W. Mccarty

John W. McCarty, 85, resident of Linthicum, died peacefully March 23. Born October 8, 1928 to the late Justin and Catherine (nee: Murphy) McCarty in Chicago, Illinois. John was an electrical engineer for Westinghouse until retirement 20 years ago. It was then that he started volunteering for The National Electronics Museum in Linthicum. He was a Boy Scount since the age of 7 and eventually a Scout Master, Boy Scout Troop #550 and #216. He was affiliated with Association of Old Crows, American Red Cross and Knights of Columbus to name a few. He loved the outdoors, running, hiking, walking and had an absolute love for PHOTOGRAPHY. John is survived by his wife of 58 1/2 years, Ruth Elizabeth (nee: Leiper) McCarty; sons, Justin McCarty of Severna Park, Jack McCarty of Lutherville; daughters, Kathleen Turnbull of Tampa, Fl, Nancy Jeschke of Severn, Christina Ritz of Linthicum; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
