On February 10, 2021, as the snow began to fall, John Edward Payne, Jr. left this world leaving behind an incredible legacy of love and laughter.
John was the cherished soulmate to his wife Misty, proud father of Christopher, Corey, Casey, Kailey, Alison and Stella, their bulldog. Loving son of Vickie & Timmy Smith and John Payne and Irene. Beloved big brother of Jessica and Taylor. Devoted uncle of TJ and Jeremiah. John was also adored by his aunts and uncles who loved him like a son, as well as many cousins who looked to him as a brother. He will also live on in the memories of his many close friends who will tell his stories for years to come. John was welcomed into Heaven by his sister Kimberly, as well as his beloved grandparents, aunts and uncles.
John was born on June 27, 1973 into a loud and loving Irish family. He was enthusiastic about his many passions, even the Redskins, which says a lot about his loyalty. Stars Wars, Monopoly, traveling and good old Irish whiskey all made his eyes twinkle but what he loved most was sharing these moments with his family and friends. This world is full of John Payne stories, and we are all better for having shared them. In 2006, John began dating his wife Misty and began their story together until the stars aligned when they were married in 2012. Those who knew them were able to witness the true definition of soulmates and a love story that will surely transcend this lifetime. Those who were lucky to share in Johns adventure through life will know that he would want the good times to continue, the stories to be told and glasses to be raised. Let us all honor him in the way that he lived.
