John W. Yewell,Jr., a lifetime resident of South Baltimore, passed away on September 16, 2015. Born in Baltimore to the late John W. and Olive L. (Robey) Yewell. He was a plant manager at Quad Engineering, formerly known as Haven Chemical for many years. John was very active in his community. In addition to being a member for over 60 years of Mason Corinthian Lodge #93, he founded South Baltimore Little League, Was the Director of Color Guard for South Baltimore Territories and was very active in the Riverside Baptist Church. John was very involved with the Mission Breakfast at Riverside Baptist and in his spare time enjoyed fishing, golfing, photography, cooking and spending time with his family. He is survived by his son, John W. Yewell, III and his wife, Linda of Brooklyn Park; daughters, Myra L. Walls and her husband, John E. Walls, Jr. of Stuart, FL, Sharon L. Kaspary and her husband, David Kaspary, Sr. of Severna Park, Tracey A. Russell of Linthicum; brother in law, William Hunt of Parkville; sister in law, Beverly Harvey of White Marsh, 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eva L. (Harvey) Yewell and his sister, Mildred Betty Hunt. Friends and family may call at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, P.A. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 and Sunday, September 20, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Services to be held on Monday, September 21st 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery to follow services. For those so desiring, donations may be made to Riverside Baptist Church for their Mission Breakfast.
