Joseph Nathan Soaper

Joseph Nathan Soaper died peacefully in University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in LaPlata, MD at the age of 89.

Joseph is survived by his children, son, Steven Soaper and wife Debbie Ferguson, daughter, Donna Mooney and husband Dennis, and daughter, Carol Travis and husband Randy.

Joseph was born on March 14, 1928 in Baltimore, MD to the late Charles Henry Soaper and Mattie Bryant Soaper. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1945 – 1948. Joseph lived in Glen Burnie most of his life where he was a police officer at the Maryland State house. He was a dedicated individual who loved fishing, crabbing and boating. After retirement he moved to Florida for seventeen years then returned to Glen Burnie to be closer to his family. His children remember him as a kind and patient father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
