Joseph J. Zaukus, Sr.

Joseph J. Zaukus, Sr., 85, of Tennessee, formerly of Millersville, passed away peacefully at home on October 13, 2015. Born April 27, 1930 to the late Frank and the late Margaret (Habel) Zaukus in Severn, Md. Joe was a Korean Conflict Veteran and a member of the American Legion. He loved everything the outdoors had to offer, often fulfilled that enjoyment camping and crabbing; even though he didn't eat the crabs. He had a passion for gardening and animals; he rescued every dog he ever had. He shared many wonderful memories spending weekends in St. Mary's County with his children and wife. His face lit up everytime he saw his grandchilden and was so proud to see them grown up. Joe is preceded by his parents, wife; Elsie M. (Richardson) Zaukus of 56 years and brothers; Francis and William Zaukus. He is survived by his children; son, Joseph J. Zaukus, Jr. and his wife Laurie of Nashville, TN and daughter, Tina Robbins and her husband Dave of Severna Park; brother, Andy Zaukus; sisters, Margaret Sorensen and Dorothy Zaukus; and 4 grandchildren, Spencer, Sydney, Matthew and Brandon. Friends and family may call at the family owned and operated KIRKLEY-RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME, PA. on Thursday, October 22nd, 4-8pm. Funeral Service will be 10am, Friday, October 23rd at the funeral home. Interment Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.
