June Gloria Lee

On January 12, 2024, June "Big Mom" Gloria Lee (Clayton), 87, died under hospice care in her home surrounded by her family.  June was born on Tuesday, June 23, 1936, in Baltimore, Maryland to Wesley John and Helene K. (Smith) Clayton, Sr. June moved to Anne Arundel County in 1962 to raise her family and help others raise their children.  Big Mom privately cared for several children throughout the years in Glen Burnie.  She also enjoyed crocheting and drinking her Miller Lite when she had a spare moment.  She had a loved for gardening, especially flowers.  She loved her daisies in the yard and her African violets in the house.  She will be greatly missed by so many.

June is preceded by her parents, Wesley John Clayton, Sr. and Helene K. (Smith) Clayton.  She is survived by her daughter, June Gloria Herren of Glen Burnie; her sister Darlene Erich of Delaware; 2 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; one on the way.

Family and Friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Monday, January 22nd,  9:30am-11:00am.  Funeral service will be Monday, January 22nd, 11:00am at Kirkley Ruddick Funeral Home, Interment immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
