K. Alan Merrill

Kenneth Alan Merrill was born September 3, 1946, in Framingham, MA, to the late Billy Merrill and Sylvia Brittain Smith. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1971 and earned his Master of Arts (MA) in Psychology from Loyola University (MD). During his working life, Mr. Merrill was an Assistant Inspector General with NSA and was also a proud Civil Servant with the VA and GAO. He ended his career consulting as a Software Engineering Process Certified Professional. He lived in Anne Arundel County for over 50 years.  He was active with the cancer support group at the Tate Cancer Center. He also assisted in organizing the 50 ^th reunion of the Air Force Skytop 1969 3345 ^th Tech School. In his spare time, Alan enjoyed coaching his sons’ soccer teams as well as watching international soccer and college football, working with his computer, and all things Apple. Most of all he enjoyed trying to keep up with his loving grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his granddaughter Adeline Merrill. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 50 years Phyllis M. Kutcher Merrill of Glen Burnie; sons Joshua A. Merrill of Austin, TX, and his wife Kendra, and Peter C. Merrill and his wife Rebecca of Raleigh, NC; brother David Merrill of WV; sister-in-laws Susan Razik and her husband Al and Muriel Bonuccelli and her husband RT; cherished grandchildren Katherine and Asher Merrill, as well as several nieces and nephews.
