Kirk Douglas Callis, Sr., a Maryland resident, passed away on June 13, 2015 at Carroll Hospital Center. Kirk was born in Baltimore, Maryland to Leonard Richard and Regina Gail (nee Barrett) Callis. Kirk enjoyed his Dunkin Donuts coffee extra extra extra, Newports and The Ravens. His music ranged from Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix to Pantera. He was known for being funny and having fun, his motto was "All the way or no way". Everyone that got to know Kirk loved him. Kirk got enjoyment from being a horticulturist for one of the State Buildings in Annapolis at one point in his life. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his fiance, Tara Carl; sons, Kirk Douglas Callis, Jr., Douglas Austin Carl; daughters, Kira Lorraine Callis, Nevaeh Danielle Callis; sisters, Lori Norris, Gina Kopack; brother, Shane Callis and several loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his niece, the late Shardeh Danielle Callis-Watkins and his sister, the late Denise Danielle Callis. Friends and family may call at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. Funeral Service to be held on Saturday, June 20th 10:00 A.M. at the South Shore Baptist Church, 725 Herald Harbor Road, Crownsville, MD 21032. Interment to follow service in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2150 Mt. View Road, Marriottsville, MD 21104.
