Konstantinos (Gus) Karambelas, 57, Baltimore resident, passed away on July 3, 2023 after a lengthy battle with multiple issues. Konstantinos was born in Athens, Greece, on Tuesday, February 22, 1966 to Theodoros and Evanthia (Routsis) Karambelas. In 1969, his family moved from Greece to Canada for a better life. From there, they moved to Chicago, then North Carolina and then finally in 1979, settled in Maryland.
Gus loved his career as a Mechanical engineer and being creative but working for the Sarikas’s made it easy to love. Friends first, then working together, Gus and Lily Sarikas, were like family, a brother to one another. Gus loved his family and nothing was more enjoyable to him than being at family events.
Gus accumulated a vast knowledge of mechanics and mechanical theory and one thing he loved to do is teach and share his knowledge with those who would inquire. In fact, in his close circle of friends he was known as “gusapedia”. Gus also loved traveling with his friends and take trips together. One such trip was the yearly boys week with the "Lake Boys", Jim, George, his cousins Thanos and Sotirios, Rodney, Tony and his brothers. He is going to be greatly missed by so many.
Gus is preceded by his parents; Theodoros and Evanthia (Routsis) Karambelas. He is survived by his children, Alexandra E. Karambelas and Nicholas T. Karambelas; his brothers, Panagiotis Karambelas and wife Sherrie and Sotirios Karambelas and wife Tina; his cousins, Sotirios Routsis, Thanasis Routsis and Ourania Ayala and his aunt Anna Routsis; as as well as many more relatives back home in Greece.
