Lee R. Garrison, Sr.

January 10, 1940 — April 6, 2022

Severn

Lee R. Garrison Sr. beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, graduated to Heaven on April 6, 2022, (23 years to the day after his own mother’s passing).

Lee was born in the small town of Daulphin County, Pennsylvania on Saturday, January 10, 1940 to Jimmie and Louise Elizabeth Garrison. Lee graduated from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute high school in 1958 and would move 21 times prior to his 21 st birthday.

Lee was an exceptional carpenter, building houses from the ground up, remodeling numerous churches, constructing over 40 Dominos Pizza stores, refurbishing many 7-11 stores, and dozens of other shops and offices from New Jersey down to Florida…including this very building in which his life is being celebrated. His professional career spanned over 60 years, leaving behind lasting examples of his incredible craftsmanship.

Lee accepted Jesus Christ as his savior when he was 16 years old. He often traveled to different churches, toting his Bible in one hand and his guitar in the other. He sang many Southern Gospel songs as he played along on his banjo, guitar, and mandolin, all as his testimony to glorify God. He leaves behind a legacy that he built with Ethel, his wife of 61 years.  It’s a blessing to know that his children, their spouses, and his grandchildren are all saved and will one day see him again.

In his final moments, “Precious Lord, Take my hand,” by his favorite singer, Hank Williams, was playing in the background. The family could not have picked a better fitting transition from this world into the next.

Lee is preceded by his parents, Jimmie and Louise Garrison and his sister, Rosa Mae Cline. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ethel Garrison of Severn; his children Lisa Renshaw, April Parsley, Lee Garrison, Jr., Roy Garrison, and Donna Moritz; his brother Sidney Garrison and sister Van Carnes; his seven grandchildren: John, David, Julie, Lana, Rose, Christian and Michael Alexander.
