Leonard M. Armstrong

May 27, 1948 — February 11, 2024

Leonard M. “Lennie” Armstrong (Captain, MD State Police Retired) of Westminster, MD and The Villages, FL was born May 27, 1948 in Hyde Park, Massachusetts to the late Paul F. and Dorothy H. Doucette Armstrong.  He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967-70 during the Viet Nam Conflict. Lennie had a long and distinguished career with the Maryland State Police, where he received a Superintendent’s Commendation as well as a Governor’s Commendation. He was a member of the American Legion and the MD State Police Alumni Association. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Pat, for almost 54 years.  He enjoyed playing golf, travel, doing the Jumble word game in the newspaper, using a log splitter to chop wood, mowing the lawn with perfectly straight lines, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Lennie was an avid fan of the Orioles and the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his sister Jane Spray. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Patricia M. Adams Armstrong, children Timothy P. Armstrong (Danielle) of Jupiter, FL, Cindy L. Burkovich of Frederick, and Jennifer L. Bishop (Curley) of Westminster, brothers Ronald and Stephen Armstrong of Pasadena, and twin brother Paul Armstrong of Frankford, DE, and grandchildren Ethan & Aiden Haines, Austin Shaeffer, Nathan and Amelia Armstrong, and Emily and Logan Burkovich.
