Linda Anne Wiles
Born Linda Anne Hemmings on May 17, 1948 in Baltimore, MD to the late John and Ruth Mewshaw Hemmings, she was a lifetime resident of Anne Arundel County. Mrs. Wiles was a graduate of Salisbury University and enjoyed a teaching career in Anne Arundel Public Schools for 34 ½ years. She taught second grade at Overlook Elementary, Hilltop Elementary, Millersville Elementary and Harman Elementary. Linda was a member and religious education teacher at Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church, the Maryland Retired School Personnel Ass’n. as well as the Anne Arundel County Retired School Personnel Ass’n. She enjoyed singing with the AARSPA Chorus. She enjoyed being a guest reader at the Severna Park Children’s Center and at other county schools. Linda treasured time spent with her grandchildren and was an avid letter writer. She passed away peacefully at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her brother John Hemmings. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Richard Allen “Rick” Wiles, Sr. of Millersville, son Richard Allen Wiles, Jr. and his wife Alyssa of Severna Park and cherished grandchildren Bode and Kennedy Wiles.
