Born Lorraine B. Filbey in Baltimore, MD on October 15, 1925 to the late Herbert and Elva Filbey (nee Stinchcomb). She lived in New Oxford, PA for the past 7 years moving from Severn, MD where she lived for the previous 16 years. Prior to this she lived in Brooklyn for the rest of her life. She was a homemaker who helped her husband with their family business, Linthicum Lumber Co. A graduate of Mergenthaler Vo-Tech. High School in Baltimore where she studied Tailoring. A gifted crafter and seamstress, Lorraine was known for her quilts, dolls and stuffed animals. She loved animals and spending time with children. Mrs. Jenkins always kept up on current events and was a proudly independent voter who was always ready for a political debate. She had a fondness for sweets and as a teenager was called fudge for her love of hot fudge sundaes. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Owen C. Jenkins who passed away in 2001 and a daughter in law, Kathryn Jenkins. Lorraine is survived by children Bonita Weaver of Catonsville, Owen F. Jenkins and his wife Debra of Pasadena & Randy Jenkins and his partner Laura of East Berlin, PA. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Gina Weaver and her husband Eric Padgett of Baltimore, Travis Jenkins and his wife Jennifer of Perry Hall, Ryan Jenkins and his partner Kirsten Miller of State College, PA, Brittany Jenkins of State College, PA and Matthew Jenkins of East Berlin, PA as well as great-grandchildren Samuel Padgett and Lainey Jenkins. She passed away peacefully at the Brethren Home in New Oxford, PA on January 15, 2016.
