She was born LouElllen Marie Burkman on May 18, 1933 in Baltimore, MD to the late Louis and Edith Nuttles Burkman and has been a lifetime resident of Anne Arundel County. LouEllen is a Graduate of Glen Burnie High School. She worked as a meat cutter for several grocery stores in the area and was known as a dedicated worker who never missed a day of work. A giving person who loved doing things for children including playing Santa. She enjoyed dancing, singing and her and her husband were known for the lavish St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. LouEllen was a lover of animals and a huge fan of Elvis Presley. In addition to her parents she is preceded her beloved husband Joseph William Gallagher, brothers Bud and Herbert Burkman, sisters Margaret Hart, Isabel Willis and Ruth Webb as well as her sons Donald and Kevin Gallagher and daughter Ellen Gallagher. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Delia Irwin and son in law Tom of Severna Park, grandchildren Erin Dodson and her husband Mark, Matthew and Phillip Irwin and great-grandchild Aspen Dodson. Mrs. Gallagher passed away peacefully and the Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center of Hospice of the Chesapeake.
