Louis A. Detota

Louis A. DeTota was born May 4, 1951 in Baltimore to Louis DeTota and Marion Bathgate (nee Sawyer) Mr. DeTota lived in Hanover for the past 30 years with his wife Mary DeTota (nee Huizinga).

Mr. DeTota was an IT Specialist for 40 years with Social Security. He was an active member of his local homeowners association and community. In his free time he enjoyed playing the guitar, bowling and watching the Baltimore Orioles play.

He is survived by his wife Mary DeTota, sister-in-law Kate Parker and her husband James, brother-in-law Steven Huizinga, sister-in-law Beverly Huizinga, and niece Stacy Huizinga and Charles Kelly. Mr. DeTota is also survived by three great-nieces and nephews, Emily, Ethan and Cooper and many cousins.  He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his niece Sarah Huizinga. He passed away peacefully at Gilchrest Hospice Center on October 5, 2017 surrounded by his wife, family and friends . His family will celebrate his life at a later date.
