Louise Harriett Jordan Millard

“Lou” to her friends and family

Louise Harriett Jordan Millard, known affectionately as Lou, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, from complications due to Parkinson’s disease. She was surrounded by her daughters in her final days, singing her favorite songs and dancing bedside to the show tunes she so dearly loved.

Lou was the daughter of Stella Faucet (née Bryson) and George Jordan, both deceased. She was a loving sister to William Jordan, and predeceased by her brothers Edward Jordan, Joseph Jordan, Sonny Jordan, and Ronnie Jordan. She was also a favorite aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Lou was known for her quick wit, musical talent, and infectious sense of humor. The life of every party, she brought laughter, music, and light wherever she went. Some of her fondest memories were from her early years as a novitiate with the School Sisters of Notre Dame, where she deepened her faith and love of community—before later meeting her beloved husband, Edward Millard, with whom she shared 50 years.

Lou was a devoted mother to her three daughters — Laura Holtby, Kate Dorsey, and Beth Millard — and loving mother-in-law to Thomas Holtby Jr., Christopher Dorsey, and Russell Sanderson. Her greatest joy came from being Grandmom to her six cherished grandchildren: Nathan, Darren, Tommy, Brett, Rowan, and Colt. She spent every moment she could with them, proud beyond measure of their accomplishments and the love they shared.

A woman of deep compassion and faith, Lou was a dedicated volunteer with the St. Francis of Assisi Order of Volunteers, where she offered care, kindness, and a helping hand to those in need. She was also a lifelong lover of animals and a fierce advocate for those she loved.

Lou was strong, courageous, and full of spirit. She will be remembered for her boundless heart, her humor, and her unwavering devotion to her family and faith.
