Born Margaret Deleetha Wiley on July 12, 1940 in Greenville, PA to the late William Frederick and Martha Lee Wiley (nee Deaton) . A resident of Glen Burnie for the past 50 Years she's a member of Glen Burnie United Meth. Ch. Mrs. Baker attended Catawba College, Bowie State and Towson State Universities. She was one of the first Physical Education teachers hired by the Anne Arundel County Board of Education. She taught both at Eastport Elementary in Annapolis and Rolling Knolls Elementary in Annapolis. An avid tennis player Deleetha belonged to Severn Valley and Big Vanilla Tennis Clubs. Active in church, she sang in the church choir, sang in the choir for a Billy Graham Crusade, taught Sunday School and at Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Baker was the director of a pre-school program for the recreation and parks dept. where she made up her own songs, games and poems. She loved to play the piano and taught her sons to play as well. She always volunteered as the team mom for her sons baseball and basketball teams. Mrs. Baker is survived by her husband of 54 years Richard Everett Baker of Glen Burnie, sons Wiley E. and Wesley K. Baker both of Glen Burnie and her sister R. Deborah Wales of Fawn Grove, PA She passed away peacefully at Baltimore-Washington Medical Center after struggling with declining health for the last several years.
