Mark Kenneth Novak was born October 22, 1953 in Baltimore, MD to the late Melvin J. Novak, Sr. and Ina Elene Novak (nee Clark). Mark spent most of his life in Anne Arundel County, as a volunteer fireman, a paid fireman and a county police officer, and was currently a resident of Crofton. He played baseball in Glen Burnie as a child. He attended Cardinal Gibbons High School but transferred for his senior year and graduated from Glen Burnie High School. Mr. Novak received his B.S. in Law Enforcement from the University of Maryland University College. He served several law enforcement agencies during his working life, including as a Federal Agent for the Department of Treasury, though he retired from the Anne Arundel Medical Center where he was a Radiology Tech in IT. His family referred to him as a prankster, and a generally nice, caring man. Left to cherish his memory are his son Joseph Novak of Pasadena, Emily Novak of Gambrills, along with an ex-wife Kimberly Seen, a brother Melvin J. Novak, Jr. and his wife Marsha Novak (nee Kirby) of Severna Park and sister Nancy Gawryszewski (and husband Paul) of Woodstock, GA. He passed away peacefully at Heartlands Assisted Living in Severna Park after an extended battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
