Markus Ray
Thompson
Aug 3, 2001 — Sep 14, 2026
Millersville
Markus Ray Thompson, 25, passed away suddenly on September 14, 2026. Born in Annapolis, Maryland, on August 3, 2001, he was the son of Amy Lynn (Thompson) Battle.
Markus graduated from Old Mill High School in 2019. Throughout high school, he was a dedicated athlete who played both football and baseball. On the football field, he served as quarterback selected in 10th grade because of his strong arm, playing both offensive and defensive positions. He was a fierce middle linebacker. On the baseball field, he brought his skill as a right fielder and pitcher. For over five years, Markus worked as a foreman for the construction company BW Hovermill Company Inc, which he enjoyed. He liked who he worked for and worked with. He was a dedicated worker and could always be counted on to show up and do good work. Outside of work, Markus loved hanging out with his friends Ricky, Gage, Luke, and Marcus having cookouts, drinks, playing corn hole, and music would always be playing. Markus loved having family gatherings and making them as fun as possible. Markus's smile would light up a room, and made so many feel good. Markus devoted himself whenever he was asked by his friends or his grandparents for help. He would drop everything and make it happen. He helped his friend Luke redo two floors in his home, didn't ask for a dollar, just food and beer. Any time his grandparents needed anything, he always showed up and did whatever they needed. He had a strong affection for animals, dogs, cats, and especially his two beloved snakes, Granny and Papa. Markus is remembered by his mother, Amy Lynn (Thompson) Battle, as well as his siblings Aaron, Destinee, Brooklynn, and Makenzie, grandparents Philip and Dixie Thompson, friends, co-workers, and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Markus is survived by his mother, Amy Lynn (Thompson) Battle of Millersville; his siblings, Aaron Dwayne Morgan, Destinee Kiara Thompson, Brooklynn Lee Battle, and Makenzie Raye Battle; his grandparents, Philip Ray Thompson and Dixie Lee Thompson, and many friends.
