Mary L. Barillaro
Born Mary Louise Teter on January 8, 1932, in Oldtown, MD to the late Clarence and Mary Teter. She raised her five children in Cumberland, where she was a Registered Nurse at Memorial Hospital. She retired to the Arbutus area to be close to her three daughters, during which she was a member of Ascension Catholic Parish, the Sodality, as well as the Red Hat Society. She had a love for gardening, enjoyed painting and drawing, and was an excellent seamstress and quilter. She was known for her quick wit, sincere nature, and loving heart. The center of Mary’s life was her love of family. Left to cherish her memory are her five children, William Barillaro of Louisiana, Barbara Barillaro of Florida (Mark Roumelis), Anthony Barillaro of Louisiana, Margaret Barillaro of Towson (Mark Wiedefeld), and Elizabeth Barillaro of Linthicum (Mark Joyce). As well as her grandchildren Amy Barillaro, Jacob Barillaro (Kaisha), Joseph Barillaro, Jonathan Barillaro (Julie), Melissa Barillaro, Joshua Barillaro, Isabella Kazmarak, Alexandra Chalmers (Brooks), Nicholas Mills, Kristen Joyce (Lauren), and Marnie Shamer (Michael), and eight loving great-grandchildren. She is survived by five siblings, John Teter (Shirley) of Old Town, Michael Teter of Cumberland, Frances Poole of College Park, Angela Deffenbaugh of Cumberland, and Margaret Delligatti-Legg of Florida, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Jacob Teter (Shirley) and Clarence Teter (Wanda), her brother-in-law, Vernon Poole, and sisters Ruth Winfield (Robert), and Eva Winfield (Joseph).
She passed away peacefully on October 16 with angels by her side. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life to be held on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at the Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Hwy., S.E., Glen Burnie. The family will receive friends and family on Friday at Our Lady of the Mountains (St. Mary), 300 Old Town Road in Cumberland from 10-11 A.M. A memorial mass will be held in the church at 11:00 A.M.
