Mary Helen Beall

April 2, 1937 — December 7, 2019

Odenton

Mary Helen (Jericek) Beall, 82, a resident of Glen Burnie, Maryland for more than 50 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7.

Mrs. Beall grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. She graduated from Seton High School in 1955. She married in June 1958.

She worked over 40 years before retiring in 2009. She began working as a “pinker” at Mercy Hospital, then in the Pigments Department at Dupont. Once her children started school, she started a career as the Personnel Director for G.C. Murphy, Murphy’s and Murphy’s Mart. Then semi-retired after working for Ames, where she traveled up and down the East Coast as a District Trainer for new stores. Her final employment was with the Anne Arundel County Public School System serving elementary school children breakfast and lunch; a job she thoroughly enjoyed.

Mary loved the Holidays, especially Christmas. She enjoyed decorating the house for each Holiday. There wasn’t a spot on a table, wall, or outside that wasn’t adorned by the season. She was creative and artistically talented; whether knitting, sewing or crafting. She had many followers seeking her creative creations at the Craft Shows she participated in throughout the area over many years.

Mary and her late husband (Ted) spent many enjoyable summers relaxing in Ocean City with family and friends, and trips to the Outer Banks.

Mrs. Beall was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edwin T. Beall, Sr. and her parents Joseph F. Jericek, Sr. and Hilda Jericek (nee Coulbourn) of Baltimore.

Mrs. Beall is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly Karen and John W. McLanigan of Millersville and Carolyn Anne and George D. Dalton of Odenton; son and daughter-in-law Edwin T., Jr. and Melanie Beall of Glen Burnie; Grandchildren John W. McLanigan, III (and wife Christine), Christopher M. McLanigan (and wife Debbie), Jake Beall, Kyle D. Beall, Rachel A. Beall, and step grandchild Tenille L. Kennedy of San Antonio, Texas; as well as Great Grandchildren Sabrina Kennedy, Tabitha Kennedy, McKenzie McLanigan, and John W. McLanigan, IV. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Joseph F. Jericek, Jr. and Diane of Pasadena, sister Carolyn N. Nogal of Annapolis, sister-in-law Virginia Wallace of Tacoma, Washington and sisters-in-law Gloria Beall of Severna Park and Cathy (Beall) Wirth of Arnold; as well as 12 nieces and nephews and their families.
