Mary Kay Beggs

September 12, 1939 — February 22, 2025

Severn

Mary Kay Beggs, 85, resident of Severn, died peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, under the care of hospice and surrounded by her family.

Mary Kay was born in Clintonville, Wisconsin, on Tuesday, September 12, 1939, to Keith R. and Aileen F. (Noonan) Beggs. She graduated from Clintonville Senior High in 1957, went on to further her studies at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater, and received her bachelor's degree from there. In 1962, Mary Kay left Wisconsin because she was offered a teaching job in Anne Arundel County, Maryland where she spent her entire career. She taught at several high schools in the area but spent many years teaching at Annapolis High School and then retiring from Broadneck High School. The same year she moved to Maryland, she became a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Annapolis, where she dedicated her faith and love. When Mary Kay was not teaching, spending time with her family, or serving the Lord, she was enjoying the golf course. She was a member of the Eisenhower Ladies 9-Hole Golf League for years and it was something she found joy in.  She also enjoyed traveling with her friends and meeting up with her many friends for lunch. Mary Kay enjoyed people and people enjoyed her presence. Our Quiet Hero will be greatly missed by so many.

Mary Kay is preceded in death by her parents; Keith R. and Aileen F. (Noonan) Beggs; her brother, Kenneth Beggs and her sisters, Patricia Grote and Barbara Janet Beggs. She is survived by her brother, Richard (Anne) Beggs of Clintonville, WI.; her sister, Jane (Robert) Schmidt of Severn; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mass to celebrate her life will be on Saturday, March 22nd, 10:30 am at St Mary’s Catholic Church 109 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis, MD 21401
