Mary Katherine Harwell

Mary Katherine Harwell (Williams), 91, a Glen Burnie resident, died peacefully in her home under hospice care on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Mary was born on Tuesday, February 28, 1933, in Rural Retreat Virginia, to Elbert F. and Mamie (McMillan) Williams, Sr. Mary graduated from Southern High School in 1952. After meeting Charlie, the love of her life, they were married on July 9, 1954, and began raising their family together.

Mary loved her home and created many indoor and outdoor projects for Charlie to do. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and was and exceptional artist.  She looked forward to the weekend camping trips on the Eastern Shore with the family. Her family was most important to her.

As foster parent for over 20 years in Glen Burnie, Mary loved the children that she took care of.

Mary was a devoted Christian that loved the Lord. She also enjoyed sharing the word of God with others. Miss Mary, as many called her, was one of a kind with a huge heart and will be greatly missed by her family.

Mary is preceded by her parents, Elbert F. and Mamie (McMillan) Williams, Sr.; her husband, Charlie Thomas Harwell; her son, Allen "Buddy" Sealing, Jr and her siblings, Betty Jo Ekstrom and Elbert F. Williams, Jr. She is survived by her children, Brian Thomas Harwell (Gayle) of Hanover, Pa, Deanna Lynn Tully (Timothy) of Glen Burnie, Shannon Kelly Harwell of Glen Burnie and Christopher Garth Harwell (Wendy) of Glen Burnie; her 10 grandchildren; and her 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services and interment are private.
