Mattheu Errick Thomas

Mattheu Errick Thomas was born March 21, 2001 in Florida to Mr. Derrick Thomas and Mrs. Sadra Thomas. Mattheu has lived in Glen Burnie for the last 13 years, and attended The Boys’ Latin School of Maryland since the second grade. He played the saxophone in the Jazz Band, played on the football team, and was a member of the school’s Diversity Club. Mattheu and his family were members of Fresh Start Church, where he was a member of the Youth group.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Mr. Derrick and Mrs. Sadra Thomas, his grandparents Ms. Virginia Tomlinson, and Mr. Delroy Tomlinson, his brother Theodore Thomas, his uncles; Donovan Thomas, Raphael Thomas, Byron Thomas, Clifton Williams, Richard Tomlinson, Jevone Tomlinson, Barrington (Burt) Burt-Miller and Darren Neil, his aunts; Carol (Veronica) Thomas; Burt-Miller, Kayla Tomlinson, Faith Thomas, Velda Thomas, Karema Thomas, Suzette Williams, Lesley Tomlinson and Monique Mendez, his cousins; Shane Burt-Miller, Joel, Nicholas, Daniel, Josef, Timothy, Nathaniel, Alair, Shane Hammond, Glory Ann, Reagan, Amorie, Jaida and Jasmine.

Mattheu passed away January 23, 2019, at Johns Hopkins Hospital, after a valiant 15-month battle with cancer. In addition to his family, he leaves behind his friends and family of the Boy’s Latin School and Fresh Start Church.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 1, 2019, 3:00pm-8:00pm at Fresh Start Church, 120 N Langley Road, Glen Burnie, MD 21060. A memorial service will be held the following day, Saturday, February 2, 2019,10:00am, at the Boys’ Latin School, 82 W. Lake Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21210.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family for the Mattheu Thomas Foundation that is being set up in his memory.
