Born Mildred Simek on April 15, 1922 in Danbury, CT to John Simek and Catherine (Drska) Simek. She had lived in Glen Burnie for over 55 years. She served with the Army during WW II and rose to the rank of Sargeant. Mrs. Mansfield retired from the Anne Arundel County School System where she had worked as a teacher's aid, assisting with special needs children. An active member of Glen Burnie United Meth. Ch. where she participated in many activities and was a member of the Young At Heart seniors group. She had a passion for helping others and volunteered for 18 years with the North County Emergency Outreach Network as well as volunteering in the Emergency Room at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. In earlier years she and her husband traveled extensively. She enjoyed spending time on her porch reading. In addition to her parents, she is preceeded in death by her husband Cleveland W. Mansfield, Sr. and several brothers and sisters. Mildred is survived by her son Cleveland W. \"Chip\" Mansfield of Millersville, daughter, Marilyn M. Stansbury of Millersville, sisters Christine Fusek of Danbury, CT and Catherine Krizan of Bethel, CT as well as four grandchildren.
