Born Nancy Jean Mortimer on October 22, 1935 to the late Edward Lee and Edna Elizabeth Mortimer. Mrs. Lyons was a longtime resident of Glen Burnie and worked as a bank teller for many years. She was also an active member at Glen Burnie United Methodist Church where she participated in women's circle meetings. In her free time she enjoyed reading, shopping with her sister, taking bus trips with her sister and brother-in-law, and most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Mrs. Lyons was preceded in death by her husband William B. Lyons, Sr. in 2001. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children William B. Lyons, Jr. and wife Dawn Tucker, Bryan Lee Lyons, Sr. and wife Laurie, Judy Lyons, David Wayne Lyons and wife Kathryn, twin sister Nadine Swing and her husband J.P., grandchildren Carrie Bryan, Michael Chapman, Jennifer Lyons, Rebecca Lyons, Shianne Smith, Bryan Lee Lyons, Jr., Dale Bechtel, Jenn and Mike Sandford, great-grandchildren Julianna Brown, Addison Chapman, Russel Chapman, Julian Chapman, Myla Maxfield, Jorah Canterbury, Kallen Decker, Abel Decker, Victoria Elizabeth Wieber, Nick, Donovan, Alyssa, and Lj.
Mrs. Lyons passed away July 10, 2019 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
