Nancy Carol Fitzpatrick Owens was born at Lutheran Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Harry E. and Ruth R. Fitzpatrick (née Linthicum). Throughout her life, she remained a devoted resident of Anne Arundel County, cherishing the community where she was raised alongside her six siblings in the Pasadena area. Her cherished sister Joyce Berglund and eldest surviving sister Doris Horney of Bowie, among others, hold her memory dear.
Nancy was a woman of vibrant interests and talents. She found joy in gardening and crabbing, relished the adventures of travel, and in her earlier years, distinguished herself as an excellent pool player and bowler. Her family fondly describes her as a true “people person,” whose warmth and spirit naturally brought others together.
Central to Nancy’s life was her remarkable marriage of fifty years to Charles Nace Owens, Jr., a bond founded on love, dedication, and steadfast commitment. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising their son, Charles Nace Owens, III of Denton, and daughter, Debra Lynn Dilworth of Glen Burnie, both of whom embody her strength, values, and devotion to family. Her joy was further blessed with the presence of her granddaughter, Natalie Rose Owens, who held a special place in Nancy’s heart.
Nancy passed away peacefully, embraced by the love of her family after an extended illness. Her legacy is one of warmth, connection, and enduring love, which will continue to live on through her family and all whose lives she touched so deeply.
