Nancy Susan Patterson

November 28, 1939 — September 8, 2024

On Sunday, September 8, 2024, Nancy "Sue" Susan Patterson (Nanney), 84, Glen Burnie resident, died peacefully in her home. Sue was born in DesMoines, Iowa, on Tuesday, November 28, 1939, to Wiley Hogue and Leone Engel (Mickelwait) Nanney, Sue graduated from high school and later became a budget analyst for the military in Fort Meade. When Sue was not working, she enjoyed spending time in her garden. She had so many beautiful flowers, but her elephant ears were always so big and bountiful! You were blessed if you got a clipping from her garden. She also loved her cats, especially Boots, whom she cared deeply for. Sue believed the only place to get good chinese food was at Bruce Lee's in Glen Burnie. She also would cook you a meatloaf as payment when you did a chore for her, which was very good. When you walked in her house, a crime story was normally playing on the TV and that was only because NASCAR was not on. Sue never missed a NASCAR race or even qualifying, anything NASCAR and the TV was on. One of her favorite drivers was Tony Stewart but she also enjoyed seeing the young talent come up through the ranks. We believe she got to enjoy watching her last race before she was called home. She will be missed.

Sue is preceded by her parents, Wiley Hogue Nanney and Leone Engel (Mickelwait) Nanney; her grandson, Michael Patterson and many siblings. She is survived by her children, Yvonne Marie Marsh of West Virginia, Donald Wayland (Christine) Patterson of Glen Burnie and Rebecca Sue (Brian) Cobb of Glen Burnie; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Services and Interment are private per her request.
