Nellie Ann Lawton was born on Thursday, January 15, 1931, in Charleston, West Virginia to Lovel Ivan and Eva May (Ferguson) Parrish. Nellie has been a Maryland resident for over 69 years. She was a member of the Harundale Presbyterian Church, American Legion Axillary, Red Hats Society, TOPS and Al-Anon for several years. Nellie bowled for years and had a true love for animals and kids, she was so good with them both. Nellie will be greatly missed by so many, especially her family.
Nellie is preceded by her parents, Lovel Ivan Parrish and Eva May (Ferguson) Parrish. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, James Joseph Lawton, Sr. of Glen Burnie; her children, James Joseph Lawton, Jr. of Arkansas, Tina Marie Younoszai (David) of Ohio, Barbara Lou Harrell (Rob) of Glen Burnie, Brenda Ledford of Florida and James Edward Harrell (Ruth) of Brooklyn; her brother, “Buddy” Parrish; 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may call at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, 3 – 7 pm. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11:30 am at the funeral home. Interment Crownsville Maryland Veterans Cemetery.
