Norma Jean Young

Born Norma J. Bass in Ft. Mill, SC on February 16, 1935 to the late Mr. Oscar Bass and Mrs. Willie Mae Bass. She married Charles J. Young, May 1, 1954. Mrs. Norma J. Young has been a resident of Anne Arundel County for the past 60 years. Mrs. Young worked as a bookkeeper for Riviera 'Colt' Lanes, Sappington Yacht Yard, and Studio 555. In her free time she was an active member of the Severna Park Elks, and the Glen Burnie Moose Lodge. Mrs. Norma's hobbies included traveling, casino trips and reading. She was also a Ravens' and Orioles fan.
Mrs. Norma Young passed away peacefully on October 15, 2018 at Genesis in Severna Park, MD. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young is predeceased by her loving husband Mr. Charles J. Young, Sr., and their daughter Ms. Mary F. Young. Mrs. Norma leaves behind her sons, Mr. Charles J. Young, Jr. of Glen Burnie and Mr. Michael R. Young of Severn, her daughters Ms. Cynthia Young of Glen Burnie and Ms. Linda C. Young of Millersville, 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren with 1 on the way. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
