Pattie Lou Hernandez, 91, Glen Burnie resident died peacefully in her home, October 24. Born January 1, 1923 in Fairmont, North Carolina to the late Rev. Charlie and Hattie Estella (Sampson) Bell. She is preceded by her parents and grandson Ronald Eddie Hood. Survived by her siblings; Christine McCormick of Baltimore, Henry Buck Bell of Lumberton, NC and Hattie Mae Barnes of Lumberton, NC. She grew up on a farm with 10 other siblings and had a wonderful childhood with a Christian upbringing. She attended Magnolia High School in Lumberton, NC. It was there that she met a soldier in the Army, Frank Albert Hernandez, II and was married on February 27, 1943. They were married for 51 years. They had seven children; Frank Albert Hernandez, III of Baltimore, Angelia Alvarenga of Glen Burnie, Paula Andrews of Lumberton, NC, Joan Hernandez Holston of Glen Burnie, Timothy Hernandez of Olympia, WA, Samuel Hernandez of Baltimore and Richard Anthony Hernandez of Olympia, WA., several grandchildren; Michael Murphy, Mark Anthony Moles, Carlissa Daniels, Israel Lee Holston, Selina Reidell, Eli Hernandez, Constance Hernandez, Leslie Frances Hernandez and leaves behind 12 great grandchildren. After being a housewife she worked at Nevermar in Odenton. Then she took a job at The American Indian Center in Baltimore as a Senior Aide and it was there she taught Quilting and Crocheting Classes. She also planned many activities for road trips to Disney and various places they traveled. She loved to sew, made several quilts for family and for sale, as this was her pleasure. She made many crafts that were displayed in The Senior Citizen Store in Glen Burnie. She loved the Lord and taught Sunday School from 1953 to 1993. Totaling 40 years with Glen Burnie Church of God, Odenton Church of God and Landsdown Church of God. She was an active volunteer during her life in church, she was a TRUE Servant. She NEVER met a stranger and was dearly loved by all.
