Born Phyllis C. Santmyer on December 8, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Clayton P. and B. Viola Santmyer (Nee Haddaway). She was a resident of Millersville for 51 years prior to moving to Baltimore County a year ago to be closer to family. She graduated from Union Memorial School of Nursing and worked as a nurse until her children were born. She attended Elvaton Baptist Church, Riva Trace Baptist Church for most of her adult life and Severna Park Baptist Church for the past year and was always active in her church, teaching to youth and college kids for over 40 years. She also taught evangelism in the community. An avid Oriole fan, Phyllis was also a talented crafter who enjoyed country and christian music, caring for her dogs Randy and Toby and trips to the ocean (especially Myrtle Beach). She was also a Civil War history buff who often went to re-enactments. Everything she did was centered around her love for her family. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Charles Peebles of Windsor Mill, daughter Kimberly C. Heard and her husband Cliff of Gwynn Oak , son Kurt Peebles of Pennsylvania, grandchildren Amber, Kylee, Candace, Collin, Jacob, Kera and Luke as well as special friend of the family Nicol Taylor. She passed away peacefully in her home following an extended illness.
