Raymond W. Thibeault, age 78 of Bethany Beach, DE formerly of Glen Burnie, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home.
He was born in Central Falls, RI on March 6, 1939 son of the late Francis W. Thibeault and the late Germaine (Barnabe) Thibeault. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1960 to 1964. Ray retired from the United States Department of Defense in 1992 after 30 years of service as a linguist.
Ray loved his life at the beach and enjoyed bowling, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Mason Dixon VFW Post 7234 in Ocean View and St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach, where he served as an usher and volunteered his time during the annual bazaar. He also volunteered his time at Mariner’s Bethel United Methodist Church’s Feed My Sheep ministry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sally A. Thibeault in 1989. He is survived by his second wife of 27 years, Patricia A. (Dodson) Thibeault; 8 children, Dalena (Steven) Jenkins of Pasadena, MD, Tom (Bridget) Thibeault of Gambrills, MD, John (Christie) Thibeault of Severn, MD, Jodi (Steve) Holtz of Severna Park, MD, Michael (Natalie) Thibeault of Laurel, MD, Lori (Ross) Hancock of Orlando, FL, Kim Heinecke of Bethany Beach, DE, and John (Dana) Smith of Saugerties, NY and; 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Hwy. S.E., Glen Burnie, MD 21061. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie, MD 21061. Interment with military honors will follow at 11:30 AM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
