Robert R. Gettier

Robert R. Gettier, 72, passed away on May 4, 2011 of heart failure at the Baltimore-Washington Medical Center.

Robert was born on April 21, 1939 in Baltimore, MD and has been a resident of Glen Burnie for 50 years. He was a retired welder of W.R. Grace Davidson Chemical, and Honoarbly discharged from the US Navy.  While serving in the Navy he received recognition for his perseverance in the face of adverse circumstances, named a "Jack of all Trades" and "Master of Improvision" by he U.S.S. O'HARE Care of Fleet.

Robert was an avid hunter, fisher, and lover of the outdoors, you would often find him at the Hunting Club, as he was a certified Hunter Education Instructor  who enjoyed teaching others his craft.  He was a member and supporter of the Free Masons, Glen Burnie Lodge 213. and American Legion Post 40.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 45 years, Carol E. (nee Bowyer); loving daughters, Kimberly M. Gettier, Lisa C. Cox and Stephenie L. Gettier all of Glen Burnie, MD.; Three Grandchildren, Matthew, Kayla & MaKenna; son-in-law, Jason Cox; and dear sisters, Shirley Akers of Glen Burnie, Barbara Meyers of Brooklyn Park, and Agnes Leister of Curtis Bay.
