Robert D. Schaefer

Born Robert Daniel Schaefer in Painesville, Ohio on October 3, 1935 to John Schaefer, Sr. and his wife Lilla Schaefer (nee Moore). A retired Senior Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force where he saw duty in Taiwan, Saigon,Izmir, Turkey. During the Viet Nam War he served as an advisor to the Chinese. He retired in 1972 after a highly decorated career of 20 years. Following his military career, Mr. Schaefer began a second career as an accountant during which he served as Controller of a large military association as well as the Lundberg School of Seamanship before retiring in 1997. An avid reader, he cherished time spent with his family. He lived in Glen Burnie for the past 4 years following 30 years spent in the Waldorf area. In addition to his parents, he is preceeded in death by a brother John Schaefer, Jr. He is survived by his wife Patricia A. Schaefer (nee McCormick) of Glen Burnie, daughter Deborah J. Johnson of Pasadena, son Michael L. Stone of Austin, Texas, sister Ann Baker of Tenifly, NJ as well as 4 grandchildren.
