Robert Leroy Wilkes, III

(February 25, 1960 – February 13, 2023)

Robert Leroy Wilkes, III., 62, Glen Burnie resident, died unexpectedly in his residence on the evening of Monday, February 13, 2023.  Robert was born in Baltimore, Maryland on Thursday, February 25, 1960 to Virginia Lee (Adams) and Francis Joseph Griffith.

Robert was blessed to have found a job that he was passionate about. He worked for 10+ years for the State of Maryland in the Vehicle Recovery Department.  He found it fulfilling to help get stranded motorist to safety.

He loved being on the road in anything with a motor and being the “family UBER”.  Robert enjoyed traveling with family and friends.  Some of his highlights were his cruises to Alaska, Disney, and Panama Canal.  Another event in his life that was very special to him was a mission trip to Central America.  His love for the great outdoors took him on many camping trips where he could experience what nature’s landscape had to offer. He was a kind soul that enjoyed a good pizza and loved animals, especially dogs.

Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Lee Wilkes.  He is survived by his parents, Virginia Lee (Adams) Griffith and Francis Joseph Griffith; and his sisters, Brenda Sue Taylor and Debi Ann Smith. Services and Interment are private.
