Ronald E. Daugherty passed away on May 22, 2014. He was one of 14 children born in West Virginia to the late Herbert Daugherty and Stella Daugherty (Nee Martin). Ronald was a forklift operator for General Electric until he retired and he was a member of Severn United Methodist. He enjoyed caring for his car, watching TV and Westerns. Mr. Daugherty is survived by his wife, Shirley Jean Daugherty of Hanover; son, Jeffrey Wayne Daugherty of NC; step-son, Douglas Ridgley of Delaware; daughter, Kimberly L. Newberger of Ellicott City; Step-daughters, Sharon Burkhardt of Windsor Mill, Michele Wurzel of WI; brothers, Martin R. Daugherty of WV, David Daugherty of the Eastern Shore, Jack Daugherty of NC; sisters, Naomi Johnson of the Eastern Shore, Delores Bell of Odenton, Carol J. Daugherty of WV, Liz Slater of Savage; 10 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine DeAngelo and 5 brothers and sisters. Friends and family may call at the family owned Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home on Monday, May 26, 2014 from 3-5 & 7-9 P.M. The Funeral Service to be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 27th 10:30 A.M. Interment in Glen Haven Memorial Park to follow service.
