Russell L. Taylor, Jr., 80, Glen Burnie resident, died under hospice care on Friday, May 16, 2025. Russell was born on Friday, August 18, 1944, in Odenton, Maryland, to Russell L. and Virginia M. (Knight) Taylor, Sr. He grew up in Anne Arundel County and found his true love Joan, and they married young. They built a family and had over 56 great years together. During those times of raising the children, Russ had a junkyard and a Tow Truck Company, Taylor and Sons Towing, in Pasadena, until 1988. People came from all over to buy his treasures at the junkyard. He also raced a Late Model at Dorsey Speedway on Saturday Nights. He loved dirt track racing, and he loved trains. He was employed as a Fuel Technician for over 44 years with Signature Flight Support at BWI before retiring. Russell was a quiet man that kept to himself but if he knew you and you needed something, he would help you if he could. He was dedicated to his close family and friends. He will be missed.
Russell is preceded by his parents, Russell L. Taylor, Sr. and Virginia M. (Knight) Ream; his wife of 56 years, Joan Ann (Sharp) Taylor; and grandson, Edward (Eddie) Taylor. He is survived by his children, Roy Taylor (Kate) of Lutherville, Russell Taylor (Kristal) of Seaford, DE. and Teresa McAdams (Joey) of Joppa; his sister Chrissy Gardner (Dave) of Pasadena; his 13 grandchildren and his 12 great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, 3-5pm & 7-9pm. Funeral service, Wednesday, 11am, at the funeral home. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
