Ruth E. Mccarty

Ruth “Betty” E. McCarty passed on July 18, 2016. She was born in Waterford, Connecticut to the late Francis and Helen Leiper . Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the beach, baking, sewing, and supporting her husband who was an active member of Boy Scout Troop 550 and the National Electronics Museum. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and watching and cheering them on at their many sporting events.

She is survived by son Justin McCarty and wife Linda of Severna Park; daughter Kathleen Turnbull and husband John of Tampa, FL; daughter Nancy Jeschke and husband Chris of Severn; Christina Ritz and husband Kevin of Linthicum; Jack McCarty and wife Patty of Lutherville. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband John W. McCarty.

Family and friends may call 3-5 and 7-9pm, Friday, July 22, 2016 at Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Hwy. S.E. Glen Burnie, MD 21061. All other services will be celebrated privately with her family.
