Sandy Dyson

October 2, 1952 — February 3, 2018

Sandy Dyson was born October 2, 1952 in Washington, D.C. to the late Sherman Lewis and Ruth J. Dodson. Sandy was raised in Lanham, MD where she graduated from DuVal High School in 1970.

She was a member of Lighthouse Church. She was passionate about jewelry and devoted her career to working in the industry. She was also a strong supporter of Gilchrist of Howard County fundraising events. She loved Elvis, jewelry, going to the beach, being in the sun, the Ravens, the Orioles, playing weekly trivia at Hellas, anything purple or sparkly, but greatest of all she loved spending time with her 3 girls and her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are children Staci Sylvia and husband Dave, Sherri Mendez Montero and husband Daniel, and Starr Dyson and fiancé Chris Coyne, siblings Sherman “Terry” Dameron, Jr., Sharon Dameron, and Stephen Dameron and spouse Kris, grandchildren Jeramy, Sareena, Hannah, Sophia, Aiden, Shaylee, James, Jaxson, step-grandchildren Chloe, Michael and Jessica, and great-grandson Liam. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Mark Dyson.

Sandy passed away unexpectedly at home on February 3, 2018. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Gilchrist Center Howard County, 5537 Twin Knolls Rd. Suite 434, Columbia, MD 21045.
