With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Scott Guhse on November 7, 2024. He was 51 years old.
Scott was born in Baltimore, MD in 1973 and remained in the area for most of his life. He attended Old Mill High School and graduated from Towson University with a degree in fine arts. Scott was a talented artist who specialized in portraits, both people and animals. Many homes around the area boast his renderings of their beloved family members and pets.
In addition to his passion for art, Scott was an avid Ravens fan and loved watching and cheering on his favorite NFL team. He also enjoyed science fiction books, movies, and TV. He particularly liked the Alien film series, even naming his dog Ripley. He loved animals and had a soft spot for rescuing dogs and cats. He cherished his canine companions over the years: Rudie, Niko, and most recently, Ripley.
Scott was a devoted son and brother, and a doting uncle to his two nephews. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, games, and just enjoying each other’s company.
Scott is survived by his parents, Ray and Barb Guhse; his sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Dan Gange; his nephews, Andrew and Max; and his extended family and friends. He will be greatly missed by them all.
The family would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time. Those who knew Scott know that he never liked to be the center of attention, and per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. Those who would like to honor his life may do so by donating to the Maryland SPCA, the Canine Humane Network, or a charity of their choice.
