Shirley Mae Wertz

Born Shirley Mae Poole on August 4, 1935 in Baltimore, MD to the late Emory and Mattie Poole (nee Frank) and she lived most of her life in Maryland. Shirley was a homemaker and helped her husband with his video business in earlier days.  In her spare time she enjoyed doing word search puzzles, painting, casino trips and caring for her dogs. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Charles Edward Wertz, sons Denny and Benny Hayes, daughter Sissy Hayes and brothers Bud and Junie Poole.  Shirley is survived by her children, Steven and Phillip Hayes of Hanover, Pete Hayes of Pasasdena, Joe and Eddie Hayes of Glen Burnie, Jon Wertz of North Carolina and Ethel Auman of Hanover as well as sisters Sis Russell of Odenton and Darlene Rohr of Colorado. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  She passed away peacefully in her home on June 16, 2019 and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
