She was born Sochana Say on June 27, 1969 in Laos to the late Suth Say and Sokhan Nhem Say. She has been a resident of Glen Burnie for the past 17 years. During her working life Sochana did medical billing for Medstar. She enjoyed playing Rummy, trips to the casino, reading, playing computer games, crocheting and camping. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Melvin L. McCain of Glen Burnie, daughter Sydney Hinshaw (Corey) of Raleigh, NC, sisters Sokha Ngin and Sokhama, both of Columbia, Sokhamala of Florida, brothers Sutha Say of Florida, Suthara Say of Cambodia, Siutherlanda Say of Elkridge, Sophana Say of Glen Burnie. She is also survived by granddaughter Emilia Hinshaw. Sochana passed away after a lengthy illness and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, December 14, 2025, 2pm - 4pm & 6pm - 8pm. Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, 11am at the funeral home, Interment immediately following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
