Suzanne “Suzy” Shepherd was born August 13, 1963 in Portland, Oregon to the late Norma Ann and Frank “Edward” Shepherd, Jr. Following graduation from Aloha High School and the University of Puget Sound she began her professional career with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service that became part of U.S. Customs and Border Protection in 2003. She went where she was needed, working in Portland, Atlanta, Georgia, the Training Academy near Brunswick, Georgia and most recently at the agency Headquarters in Washington, DC. She was a resident of Glen Burnie for the past 16 years. Suzy was a life-long Disney fan and enjoyed sharing the experiences with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her husband Travis Lamar Smelley, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her son Cameron Smelley of Glen Burnie, brother Steve Shepherd of Portland, Oregon and a large, extended family.
Friends may call at the Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Hwy., S.E., Glen Burnie, MD on Tuesday, August 29th from 12-2 P.M. Services will begin at 2:00 P.M.
