Talmadge Simmons, Jr.

Talmadge Simmons, Jr. died on July 4, 2016 at University Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Tal was born on July 26, 1940 in Evergreen, N.C. to Talmadge Simmons, Sr. and Bertie Johnson Simmons. He graduated from Evergreen High School in 1958 and from Gale Institute Airline School in Minneapolis, MN in 1960. He was employed by Delta Airlines, Inc. for 33 years. Tal retired from Delta in 1993.
He was an enthusiastic golfer and a member of the Ferndale Roadrunners, Pascal Senior Center, Glen Burnie United Methodist Church, and the Young at Heart group at his church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Andrews Simmons, a son, Robert D. Swan, Jr.(Donna), a daughter, Lori Ann Ward (Rusty), a son, Brian D. Simmons, a loving sister, Carolyn Virginia Shockley, sister-in-law, Doris A. Grable, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may call Friday, July 8, 2016 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at Kirkley- Ruddick Funeral Home, 421 Crain Hwy. S. E. Glen burnie, MD 21061. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park.
