Thomas James Paolino, 76, Millersville resident, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, under the care of Mercy Hospital. Thomas was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, October 14, 1948, to Thomas Andrew and Mary Margaret (Errera) Paolino. Thomas graduated from Churchill High School in 1966 and received his bachelor’s degree in education from Clarion College. After college, he moved to Annapolis, Maryland where he began his 30-year teaching career with Anne Arundel County Public Schools. He served three separate terms as President of the Teacher’s Association of Anne Arundel County. He married Catherine Westcott in 1971 and were married for 28 years, until her passing in November of 1999. They had two daughters, Dennison and Amanda. The family moved to Pasadena, Maryland in 1975 where Thomas lived until 2011 when he moved to Millersville, Maryland. Thomas and Catherine also dedicated their time and home by sponsoring Midshipman from the U.S. Naval Academy; many of which he has remained in contact with. He especially enjoyed his Poker Fridays, where once a month he and his friends met and played. It was something he rarely missed. And finally, his world was complete when spending time with and spoiling his four grandkids, Jordan, Sydney, Andrew, and Colton. His kind and giving nature will be greatly missed by so many.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his two daughters, Dennison Marie Steele (Timothy) of Chesapeake, VA and Amanda Paolino Taylor of Powder Springs, GA; his two brothers, Timothy “Tim” Paolino (Dee) of Monroeville, PA and Richard “Rick” Paolino (Patty) of Pittsburgh, PA; and his four grandchildren, Jordan Thomas Steele, Sydney Catherine Steele, Andrew Vincent Westcott Taylor and Colton Westcott Taylor.
