Velma Marie (Fields) Amini, 81, resident of Millington, died on June 26, 2024, at the University of Maryland Shore Regional Hospital. Velma was born in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, on November 21, 1943, to Charles Edgar and Nell (Hamilton) Fields. Velma was a Baptist growing up and was a hard worker. She often worked several jobs, and owned Amini's Restaurant for over 30 years. She enjoyed crafts and keeping busy when she was not working. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Velma is preceded by her parents, Charles Edgar Fields and Nell (Hamilton) Fields; and her siblings; Bobby Joe Fields and Helen Ruth Fields. She is survived by her husband, Iraj Edward Amini of Millington; her son, James D. Amini, Sr. and his wife Dawn of Millington; her siblings, Billie Louise Powers, Marjorie Sue Johnson, Mary Agnes Taylor, Barbara Roseland Johns and Katie Jean Fields; her 3 grandchildren, James David Amini, Jr., Brandy Nicole Myers and Amber Marie Hall and her great grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit at the KIRKLEY RUDDICK FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, July 9th, 10:30am -12:30pm. Funeral service, Tuesday, 12:30pm. Interment Glen Haven Memorial Park.
