She was born Virginia Lee Adams in Baltimore, MD on February 27, 1939 to the late James Bradford Adams and Helen Lee Weeks Adams. Mrs. Griffith has lived in the Glen Burnie area since the early 1970’s. During her working life Mrs. Griffith was a switchboard operator at South Baltimore General Hospital and went back to answer phones when it was Harbor Hospital. She also drove a school bus for 7 years for Huber’s bus service, she worked as a receptionist in a dentist office and she sold Avon for over 20 years. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, playing the slots and watching NASCAR. In addition to her parents Virginia is preceded by son Robert Wilkes and daughter Helen Lee Ebert. Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of over 49 years Francis Joseph Griffith, daughters Brenda Sue Taylor of Severn and Debi Ann Smith of LaPlata as well as 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions to Grace Point Community Church, 61 Gambrills Rd., Severn, MD 21144 will be appreciated by the family.
