Wallace "Wally" Daniel Nogueira, age 87, of Edgewater, passed away at his home in Florida on August 2, 2009 with his family present. Born June 2, 1922 in Columbia, South Carolina, Mr. Nogueira is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margie; a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Marjorie Nogueira of Glen Burnie, Maryland; daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Nancy Riffenburg of Edgewater; and grandson, Charles Riffenburg, III of St. Augustine, Florida. He was predeceased by his grandson, Manuel Nogueira.
Wallace served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the 40's, later in the Merchant Marines, and then the U.S. Navy during WWII as a gunner's mate third class. After WWII he worked as a LPN, and shortly after, opened his own auto parts store in Baltimore, Maryland. Wallace was also a lifetime member of The American Legion Post 276 in Severn, Maryland. He retired to Edgewater in 1989.
He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and cats. He had a loving heart and will be dearly missed by his family, cats, and friends. Wallace will be buried beside his grandson, Manuel, in Glen Haven Memorial Park, Glen Burnie, Maryland.
